Tsar Cannon, Siege artillery in Moscow, Russia
The Tsar Cannon measures 5.34 meters in length with a caliber of 890 millimeters and weighs 39,312 kilograms of cast bronze material.
Master bronze caster Andrey Chokhov created this monumental artillery piece in 1586 during the reign of Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich at the Moscow Kremlin.
The barrel displays intricate relief images, including an equestrian portrait of Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich and inscriptions commemorating his authority over Russia.
Visitors can find the Tsar Cannon near the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in the Moscow Kremlin, alongside other historical Russian military artifacts.
Scientific examination in 1980 revealed gunpowder residue inside the barrel, disproving the common belief that this cannon never fired a shot.
