Klintsy, Industrial town in Bryansk Oblast, Russia
Klintsy is a town in the western part of Bryansk Oblast that stretches along the Turosna River at approximately 550 feet (170 meters) above sea level. The settlement spans both sides of the river and serves as a hub for several surrounding communities in the area.
A group of Old Believers founded the settlement in 1707 after fleeing religious persecution from central Russia. During the 19th century the place transformed into a major textile production site with numerous mills and factories.
The birthplace of Evgeny Belyaev holds a music school named after this renowned member of the Alexandrov Ensemble, maintaining strong musical traditions.
Railway connections run from here to Bryansk and onward to Moscow and other regions, with the station located near the center. Bus routes link the surrounding villages and make it easier to reach the town from neighboring districts.
Local textile factories produced over 90 percent of Chernigov province's textile output during the late 19th century, establishing a lasting industrial legacy.
