Yelokhovo Cathedral

Yelokhovo Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Basmanny District featuring neoclassical brick architecture with a prominent central dome and four-tiered bell tower. The structure creates a distinctive silhouette in the urban landscape with its classical proportions and ornamental details.

The cathedral was built in the mid-19th century by architect Yevgraph Tyurin to replace an earlier church that occupied the same site. The previous structure held significance in Russian cultural history before being demolished for this neoclassical reconstruction.
