Balezino, Rural locality in Udmurt Republic, Russia
Balezino is a settlement in the Udmurt Republic in northern Russia that serves as the administrative center of Balezinsky District. The village sits at an elevation of about 154 meters and functions as a regional hub.
The settlement was founded in 1897 when the first communities began to establish themselves. From 1929 until 2005, it served as the administrative center of the district.
The settlement is home to Udmurt, Russian, and Tatar residents whose daily lives shape the local character. This mix of communities has defined the place for generations.
The railway station serves as a junction between Kirov and Perm where trains stop for about thirty minutes to switch power systems. This scheduled stop provides travelers with time to walk around and see the village.
In March 2012, the settlement was reclassified from a work settlement into a rural locality. This administrative change reflected a new phase in how the place was recognized and governed.
