Chekalin

Chekalin is a small town in Tula Oblast situated on the left bank of the Oka River at roughly 190 meters above sea level. The surroundings are shaped by the gentle landscapes of central Russia, which unfold along the river valley.

The settlement was founded in 1565 under the name Likhvin, functioning as a small trading and administrative center for centuries. It received its current name in 1944 to honor a partisan from World War II.
