Shigonsky District

Shigonsky District is an administrative area in western Samara Oblast, with Shigony serving as its main administrative center. The territory encompasses several rural settlements and villages spread across the region.

The district was formally established in 1965 as an administrative division of Samara Oblast. It developed as a rural administrative area organized under a central municipal structure.

The population of Shigonsky District experienced demographic changes, decreasing from 26,001 residents in 1989 to 21,002 residents according to the 2010 census.

The district operates in the UTC+4 timezone and is organized into several rural municipalities with services centered in Shigony. Access to the area depends on local road connections, which are typical for rural regions.
