Pavel Korin's house-museum

Pavel Korin's house-museum is the building where the painter lived and worked from 1934 to 1967. The space preserves his original studio with personal belongings and artistic materials from that period.

Korin used the house as an artist's space and residence for more than 30 years. After his death in 1967, the entire collection became part of the Tretyakov Gallery and later opened to the public as a museum.

The house displays Russian icons and paintings that Korin created and collected here. These works relate directly to his artistic practice in the studio, which retains its original arrangement today.

The museum is located near Frunzenskaya and Sportivnaya metro stations on Malaya Pirogovskaya Street. Visitors should check current opening information, as the building can be closed for periods of time.

Korin spent four decades preparing for his major work 'Requiem Rus Disappearing'. A large blank canvas that was meant to hold this painting is displayed in the museum, standing as a reminder of his unfinished artistic vision.
