Odoev, Work settlement in Tula Oblast, Russia
The settlement of Odoev lies on the left bank of the Upa River, 75 kilometers from Tula, at an elevation of 205 meters.
Established in 1380, Odoev functioned as the center of the Odoevsky Duchy before becoming part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1407.
The Odoevskiy Museum preserves local artifacts while the Museum of Filimonovo Toys displays traditional clay figurines from neighboring villages.
The settlement maintains a population of 6,144 residents and serves as the administrative center of the Odoyevsky District within the Tula Oblast.
Castle Hill stands as the remaining evidence of the former fortress that protected the medieval town during conflicts between Lithuania and Moscow.
