Spasskaya Tower, Clock tower in Moscow, Russia
The Spasskaya Tower, also known as the Savior Tower, is the main tower on the eastern wall of the Moscow Kremlin which overlooks the Red Square.
Built in 1491 by an Italian architect Pietro Antonio Solari, the Spasskaya Tower was once used to announce the time to the city's residents with its famous clock.
The tower is culturally significant as it hosts the Kremlin chimes and is traditionally used for the formal entrances into the Kremlin.
Visitors can view the tower from the Red Square but cannot enter it as it is part of the Kremlin wall.
The star on the top of the Spasskaya Tower was installed in 1935 and weighs about a ton.
