History
A wooden church was first built in 1445 by Prince Vasily II following his return from Tatar captivity. The current stone structure dates to 1667 and represents the architectural evolution of the site.

The walls showcase intricate decorative elements, including nine thousand multicolored tiles featuring peacock-eye patterns created by craftsman Stepan Ivanov Polubes. These artistic details reflect the skill and devotion visible in every corner of the building.
