Aniva lighthouse, Lighthouse on Cape Aniva, Sakhalin Island, Russia
The lighthouse rises 31 meters from Sivuchya Rock, featuring nine floors with a round tower design and an offset wing section at its base point.
Japanese authorities completed the construction in 1939 under engineer Miura Shinobu's direction, using materials transported across rough waters to this remote location.
The structure contained living quarters for twelve keepers, including specific spaces for cooking, radio operations, equipment management, and continuous watch duties.
Visitors reach the lighthouse by taking motorboats from Novikovo village, requiring careful planning due to frequent fog and strong sea currents.
The lighthouse operated autonomously from 1990 to 2006 using a nuclear power source, marking the final period of its active service life.
