Дом творчества Малеевка, organization
The House of Creativity Malewka is an estate in the village of Gluchovo that served as a workplace and retreat for writers and artists. The grounds feature multiple residential buildings, a main complex with library facilities, landscaped gardens, and small ponds scattered across the property.
The estate was established in the late 1800s as a private residence where notable writers regularly gathered. Following the Soviet revolution, it was converted in 1927 into a creative house and remained an important cultural venue for Soviet intellectuals until the late 20th century.
The name refers to a place where writers and artists traditionally gathered to create and share their work. It served as a symbol of cultural values in the local community, where people would come together to celebrate creativity and intellectual exchange.
The site is accessible by car or bus with parking available nearby. The pathways are easy to walk and allow for strolls through the gardens and around the ponds.
The place inspired many celebrated Soviet writers including Veresaev, Marshak, and Gaidar, who worked here and developed new ideas. Yevgeny Yevtushenko even wrote a song about Malewka, reflecting the site's special importance to artists.
