T-34 Tank History Museum

The T-34 Tank History Museum is a facility in Moscow Oblast dedicated to the Soviet tank and its development. The collection includes military equipment, photographs, documents, and personal items belonging to engineers and soldiers connected to this vehicle.

The museum opened in 2001 at the exact location where Soviet T-34 tanks launched a decisive counterattack in 1941 during the Battle of Moscow against German invasion. This historic ground was later chosen to preserve the tank's role in this critical moment.

The museum grew from Larissa Vassilieva's personal collection, assembled to honor her father Nickolai Kucherenko, one of the T-34 designers. The place reflects how deeply this tank became connected to Soviet national pride during wartime.

The museum sits at kilometer 36 of the Dmitrov highway and offers guided tours in multiple languages. Visiting works well with exploring other sites in the region, as its location along a main road makes it easy to reach.

The archive holds original tank components, technical drawings, and correspondence between engineers involved in the T-34 development program. These documents reveal the collaboration and engineering challenges that had to be solved during design.
