History
The estate was founded in 1726 under Maria Stroganova, and its current palace took shape from 1813 onward, designed by architect Andrey Voronikhin for Countess Sofia Stroganova. This rebuilding period gave the property the appearance visitors see today.

The estate takes its name from its original owner Maria Stroganova and later became the family's country retreat. Walking through the grounds, you see how the Russian nobility lived and spent their leisure time during the 1800s.
