Музей-заповедник народного быта, Folk culture museum-reserve in Kulikovo rural settlement, Russia
The museum-reserve features traditional rural houses, farming tools, and personal belongings that document village life across several centuries. The collection spans six sections with wooden artifacts, ceramics, transportation items, metalwork, and glass or porcelain objects.
The museum-reserve was founded in 2006 as an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving rural heritage. A tower called Vstrechnaya was built in 2009 as a monument and expanded the exhibition offerings.
The collection shows how rural people furnished their homes and which wooden, ceramic, and metal objects played a role in daily life. The displayed textiles and household items give a sense of how the rural population worked and lived.
The grounds offer educational programs and craft workshops where visitors can learn about traditional skills and try them out for themselves. The outdoor spaces allow for unhurried exploration at your own pace, suitable for longer visits.
The Vstrechnaya Tower was built in 2009 as a standalone monument with an unusual architectural form standing in the open air. This structure is not a traditional building and shows how the site bridges historical heritage with a modern viewpoint.
