Ozero, Housing cooperative in Solovyovka, Priozersky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia.
Ozero is a gated community with several villas along the eastern shore of Lake Komsomolskoye on the Karelian Isthmus. The settlement lies in Leningrad Oblast and consists of private properties connected through shared management and infrastructure.
The cooperative was established in November 1996 by Vladimir Smirnov and Vladimir Putin after Putin returned from Dresden. The land belonged to Finland until 1948, before becoming part of Soviet administration following territorial changes.
Members of this housing cooperative share financial management through a communal bank account, reflecting Russian cooperative law principles and residential practices.
The community sits near the village of Solovyovka in Priozersky District, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) northeast of Saint Petersburg. The area is surrounded by forest and lakes, requiring access via paved roads.
The location of the settlement provides direct access to the lake, which was once rare in this border zone between two countries. The name Ozero means lake in Russian, referring to the water connection with nearby bodies of water.
