The Old Bridge stretches 538 meters across the Vyatka River, connecting the main left bank of Kirov with the right bank through seven concrete spans.

Constructed in 1962, this bridge replaced the ferry crossing system that had served as the primary method of crossing the Vyatka River since the early 1800s.

The structure represents a significant engineering achievement for Kirov, marking the transition from temporary wooden bridges to permanent concrete infrastructure.

Following extensive renovations in 2007-2008, which cost 420 million rubles, the bridge now accommodates vehicles of all weights and regular pedestrian traffic.

The bridge features eight support pillars constructed with pre-stressed concrete, incorporating engineering techniques that were innovative for the 1960s Soviet Union.
