Holy Trinity church, Kostinino, Tempel in Russland
The Holy Trinity church in Kostinino is a stone building with a simple cross-shaped structure, originally built in 1805 and rebuilt in 1910. The structure features domes and arches in a Byzantine-Russian style, with a restored interior filled with traditional icons and frescoes.
The building was constructed in 1805 with funds from landowner Nikolai Petrovich Titov and rebuilt in stone in 1910. After its closure in 1937, it was damaged during World War II, used as storage, and gradually restored beginning in 1989 before reopening in 1991.
The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and houses two altars, one of which honors the Kazan Mother of God icon. It serves the local community as a gathering place for prayers and religious celebrations, especially on the feast days of the Holy Trinity and the Kazan icon.
The site is located in a small village and is easy to find as it serves as a landmark in the area. The church is accessible year-round and works best for visits during religious festivals when the community is actively gathering.
The church was so severely damaged during World War II that its bell tower was destroyed because it served as a landmark for aircraft. A new bell tower was only rebuilt in 2016 and equipped with blessed bells from the city of Tutaev, which were consecrated in 2023.
