Orsk Fortress

Orsk Fortress is a military structure built in the 18th century at the location where the Ural River flows through the settlement. The site features stone walls constructed using the engineering methods of that era, reflecting the strategic importance of controlling this river crossing.

The fortress was founded in 1735 during an expedition led by Ivan Kirilov and became a key outpost for Russian expansion into the southern Ural region. It played a crucial role in settling and securing this distant area during the 18th and 19th centuries.
