Samaradagi o‘rtoq Suxov haykali, Bronze monument at Volga River embankment in Samara, Russia.
This bronze statue depicts a soldier in life size and stands directly on the ground between two major descents along the Volga embankment. The figure weighs about 315 kilograms and can be viewed from both the riverside and the walking path.
The monument was erected in 2012 to honor a famous film character that appeared in a Soviet movie from 1969. Its creation was part of a national initiative to commemorate important figures from Russian cinema.
The face of the statue was modeled after the actor who brought the character to life in the 1969 film, creating a direct link between cinema and public memory in Samara.
The monument sits on the Volga embankment and is easily reached on foot from either side of the two descents. The location offers views from both the riverbank and walking path, making it accessible at any time.
Unlike many monuments, this figure stands without a raised pedestal directly on natural ground, placing it closer to visitors. It was planned as the first figure in a larger composition that could be expanded over time.
