Aushkul Lake, Protected lake in Uchalinsky District, Russia
The water surface of Aushkul Lake extends near Starobairamgulovo village, featuring a small heart-shaped island in its center and clear waters.
The lake has maintained its status as a natural monument through different periods of Russian governance, from imperial times through the Soviet era.
The Aushtau Mountain on the western shore contains a sacred water source called Aulia, which holds religious significance for Bashkir Muslims.
Visitors can engage in fishing for pike, set up camps along the shoreline without fees, and observe multiple bird species among the reeds.
The lake bottom and shores contain deposits of multicolored jasper stones, which pilgrims collect and carry to the mountain top following local traditions.
