Asir National Park

The national park spans 6,490 square kilometers, encompassing coastal plains, granite foothills, deep wadis, and mountains reaching 3,200 meters in elevation.

The Saudi government established Asir National Park in 1981 as the first protected area in the country to preserve its natural resources and biodiversity.

Traditional architecture in the surrounding region includes stone towers and multicolored window frames, reflecting local building techniques passed through generations.

Visitors can access the park through Abha International Airport, which connects to major Saudi cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, and Taif.

The park contains distinct plant zones, from coastal mangroves through acacia woodlands to high-altitude juniper forests above 1,600 meters.
