Maltesholm Castle, Renaissance castle in Kristianstad, Sweden.

The three-story brick castle features a staircase tower, crow-stepped gables, and stands surrounded by a wide protective moat in the Scanian landscape.

Between 1635 and 1638, High Constable Malte Juel constructed the castle, which later underwent extensive reconstruction under Hans Ramel's direction, completed in 1780.

The castle represents different architectural periods, from its Renaissance origins to the late 18th-century Swedish classical style modifications still visible today.

While the castle remains a private residence of Baron Palmstierna, visitors can explore the castle park with its 35-meter tall douglas fir tree.

A 1.3-kilometer stone road leading to the mansion took 50 years to build, with local farmers required to bring one stone per day.
