Åsunden Östergötland

Lake Åsunden spans 5,500 hectares in southern Östergötland, featuring clear waters with depths reaching 60 meters and an average depth of 20 meters.

The waters connect to the Kinda Canal system, which served as a vital transportation route for timber and goods during Sweden's industrial development in the 1800s.

The lake supports 17 documented fish species, including perch, roach, burbot, ruffe, pike, zander, smelt, and common bream, contributing to local fishing traditions.

Fishing permits and detailed information about boat ramps, fishing locations, and species distribution are available through Åsundens FVO organization.

The lake reaches exceptional depths of 60 meters, making it one of the deeper lakes in the Östergötland region of Sweden.
