Glaskogen

This 29,000-hectare reserve contains forests, hills, and 80 lakes connected by 300 kilometers of hiking trails and 150 kilometers of water routes.

Established in 1970, Glaskogen Nature Reserve preserves wilderness areas while incorporating traditional forestry practices in selected sections of the protected land.

The reserve includes specific locations like the linden meadow at Gängene and the hazel grove at Kalleboda that represent local botanical diversity.

Visitors require a Glaskogen card to access facilities including firewood, shelters, overnight cabins, and toilets throughout the nature reserve.

Four designated bird protection zones restrict access during specific months to protect species like golden eagles and three-toed woodpeckers in their natural habitat.
