Härryda Municipality

Härryda Municipality is a local administrative district in Västra Götaland in western Sweden, with Mölnlycke serving as its administrative hub. The area comprises residential zones, farmland, and industrial areas spread across its territory.

Härryda was formed in 1971 when three separate municipalities—Björketorp, Landvetter, and Råda—were merged together. This administrative consolidation was part of a broader municipal restructuring that took place across Sweden during that period.

The municipality organizes regular seasonal events and maintains public libraries across different localities to support community engagement and educational initiatives.

The area is well connected by road and rail, with Göteborg Landvetter Airport serving as a major transportation hub within the municipality. Visitors should note that different localities are spread across the territory, so having your own transport is advisable.

Until 2007, Härryda stood as the single municipality in Sweden operating without an official coat of arms, using only a logo for identification.
