Utby

Utby is a residential district in northeastern Gothenburg with single-family homes and apartment buildings set among open green spaces and walking paths. The area features a mix of older structures and newer housing developments across its landscape.

The area transformed from farmland in the early 1900s when industrial manufacturing, particularly SKF production, brought workers and development to the region. This industrial foundation shaped how the district grew and its basic structure.

Bus lines serve the area throughout the day with convenient connections to central Gothenburg in about 30 minutes. The neighborhood is easy to walk around with sidewalks and green spaces that make exploring on foot pleasant.
