The Trängslet Dam is an embankment dam in Älvdalen Municipality stretching approximately 850 meters and rising about 125 meters in height. The station operates with three turbines that supply power to the Swedish grid.
Construction started in 1955 and was completed in 1960, representing a significant expansion of Swedish hydroelectric infrastructure. The project reflected the era's push to develop water power resources across Scandinavia.

The facility can be viewed from outside locations and is situated in a wooded region with good road access. The area around the dam offers easy access to walking paths and observation points.
At about 125 meters high, this is the tallest dam in Sweden and created the country's largest artificial reservoir. Many visitors are surprised to find a hydroelectric facility of this scale located so far north in a sparsely populated area.
