Smålands Nation is a student organization at Lund University in Sweden, operating its own house with a regular program of events throughout the week. The program covers live music nights, club nights, and social gatherings open to members.
The organization was founded in 1668 alongside Lund University, originally serving students who came from the Småland region of southern Sweden. In 1972 it formally adopted a socialist orientation, a decision that still shapes how it is run today.
The Ronja café events, held regularly at the house, center on discussions about gender and LGBTQ topics. Anyone attending quickly notices that social questions are treated as a natural part of everyday student life here.
The house is located on the Lund University campus and is easy to reach on foot from the city center. Most events require membership, so it is worth checking in advance before planning a visit.
Since 1987 the organization has had no president and is run instead by a collective board of eighteen members. This was a deliberate move away from traditional leadership, and the model remains rare among student nations in Sweden.
