Hälsingland Rune Inscription 21

The granite stone stands two meters tall with runic text carved in a curved band along its surface in the RAK carving style.

The inscription records that two brothers, Ásmundr and Farþegn, commissioned this memorial stone to honor their father Þorketil during the Viking Age.

The inscription contains names reflecting Norse traditions, including Þorketil, which incorporates reference to the god Thor in its construction.

Located in Nordanstig Municipality at coordinates 61°58'26.8"N, 17°15'32.0"E, the runestone is accessible to visitors exploring Viking heritage sites.

Gunnborga, recorded as the creator of this runestone, remains the only known female runemaster from Viking Age Scandinavia.
