Glanshammar Church

Glanshammar Church is a medieval church in Örebro Municipality featuring a sturdy stone tower constructed in the 12th century. The choir and nave were rebuilt and modified during later medieval periods.

The stone tower dates from the early medieval period and continues to define the building's character. In the late 1600s, a crypt for the Reuter family was added, which enriched the structure with an important architectural element.

The interior walls display medieval mural paintings and three preserved runestones from Närke, reflecting local artistic traditions and Norse heritage. These works give visitors insight into the early artistic expressions of the region.

The church is located at Skolvägen 4 and is easily accessible by car. A cemetery sits directly beside the building, and parking is available nearby for a comfortable visit.

The complex is designated as an ecclesiastical ensemble under heritage protection, underscoring its importance to Swedish architectural legacy. Few churches in the region share this protected status.
