Forsmarks herrgård

Forsmarks herrgård is a stone manor with three floors and two distinct sections on its main facade, situated within gardens near the Baltic Sea. The building stands as an important architectural landmark in the region, with a clear classical design structure.

The manor was built in 1774 under John Jennings' direction, replacing an earlier structure destroyed by Russians during their 1719 coastal raids. This reconstruction marked an important moment of regional recovery following wartime destruction.

The interior displays original color schemes and furniture from the late Gustavian period, showing how Swedish nobility furnished their homes during this era. Walking through the rooms reveals the tastes and daily life of the aristocracy from that time.
