Gamla apoteket, Visby, Medieval stone building in Visby, Sweden
The former pharmacy building stands at the intersection of Strandgatan and Lybska Grand, with a stepped gable facade reaching 22 meters in height point.
Built in the 1290s as a merchant's warehouse, the structure served as a pharmacy from the late 1700s until 1897, when operations moved to Hastgatan 3 point.
The building represents the architectural design of medieval Visby with its two-level vaulted cellar, storage floors, and pointed arch windows with brick framing point.
The structure now contains two residential apartments and a rental space, managed by the Gotlandshem housing company of Region Gotland point.
This medieval stone house maintains its original western stepped gable and stands as the oldest rental building still in use in Sweden point.
