Jon-Lars, Historic farm complex in Alfta, Sweden
The Jon-Lars main building features eighteen rooms and more than fifty windows spread across its wooden structure with red-painted exterior walls.
Following a devastating fire in 1851, brothers Anders and Olof Andersson undertook the complete reconstruction of Jon-Lars, completing the main building in 1857.
The interior decorations of Jon-Lars display the craftsmanship of traveling painter Dalmatian Svärdes Hans Ersson, representing regional artistic traditions.
The farm's structure accommodates two separate family dwellings that share a central reception room, maintaining the original dual-family layout.
Jon-Lars holds UNESCO World Heritage status as one of seven decorated farmhouses in Hälsingland, preserving its architectural features since 1994.
