Isaberg

Isaberg is a nature reserve in Gislaved Municipality that reaches 309 meters and contains dense forests, several lakes, and an extensive network of hiking paths. The area also features ten ski slopes and twelve mountain biking trails suitable for different skill levels.

The reserve received official protection status in 1968, establishing organized outdoor recreation in this region of southern Sweden. The land also bears traces of early Swedish mining operations with mineral extraction sites remaining from the industrial period.

The reserve maintains traditional Swedish outdoor lifestyle principles through activities like cross-country skiing, hiking, and forest exploration.

Summer offers the best conditions for hiking and enjoying the lakes, while winter is ideal for skiing and mountain biking in the area. Rental services at the mountain resort provide equipment and guidance for activities suited to the season and visitor interests.

This site evolved from a popular winter sports destination with its own ski school into a year-round recreation area. This transformation shows how traditional ski resorts adapted to attract visitors during multiple seasons.
