Sandgrund, Art museum in Karlstad, Sweden
The Sandgrund Museum displays watercolor paintings and artistic works in a converted restaurant building along the Klarälven River in central Karlstad.
During the 1970s, Sandgrund operated as a dance venue that attracted visitors from both Sweden and Norway before its transformation into an art gallery.
The museum features permanent exhibitions of Lars Lerin's watercolor paintings alongside rotating displays of contemporary artists in the White Room gallery space.
Located 900 meters from Karlstad Central Station, the museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00, with dedicated parking spaces near the entrance.
The museum building retains architectural elements from its previous function while showcasing Nordic watercolor art through different seasonal exhibitions.
