Ånhammar, Historic timber building in Gnesta Municipality, Sweden.
The main timber structure stands prominently on a hill, featuring traditional Swedish architectural elements with wooden facades and a gabled roof design.
Built in the 1630s, the building underwent substantial renovations in the 1910s when architects Sigurd Lewerentz and Torsten Stubelius transformed the cold attic into living quarters.
The building reflects traditional Swedish construction methods through its timber frame, sourced directly from the surrounding estate following local building practices.
Recent renovations between 2015 and 2020 added modern amenities including a kitchen, sauna area, outdoor patio, and workspace while maintaining historical elements.
Local timber from the estate continues to be used in all restoration work, maintaining a centuries-old connection between the building and its environment.
