Prem Castle

The castle was first documented around 1220 and functioned as a regional administrative hub throughout the Middle Ages. Ownership passed through powerful families over time, with the Habsburgs maintaining control during the later period.

The chapel interior features carved stone masks reflecting skilled medieval craftsmanship, while the main hall displays painted designs that reveal the refined tastes of its former residents. Local folklore tells of a hidden underground passage supposedly connecting this castle to Turn Mansion beneath the Reka riverbed nearby. This claimed tunnel has never been scientifically explored or confirmed to exist.
