The stone remnants of Višnja Gora Castle stand on an elevated position above the medieval town of Višnja Gora, 20 kilometers southeast of Ljubljana.
The ruins represent a medieval fortification that served as a strategic point in the region of Lower Carniola, connected to the knights of Višnja Gora.
