Klátovské rameno, National nature reserve in Dunajská Streda District, Slovakia.
This 306.4-hectare protected area encompasses wetlands, floodplain forests, and oxbow lakes along the Malý Dunaj river system, featuring diverse aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
Established in 1993 as a national nature reserve, the area was historically connected to the Malý Dunaj river until early 20th century floods led to its separation by protective dikes.
The reserve contains a historic water mill from 1920 in Dunajský Klátov village, which operated until 1950 and now serves as a museum showcasing traditional milling techniques.
The reserve prohibits boat navigation to protect wildlife, though visitors can access educational trails and observation points for birdwatching and nature study activities throughout the year.
Research has documented over 80 bird species with 70 regularly nesting here, plus 102 beetle species including one previously unknown Dorytomus genus discovered during scientific surveys.
