Bratislava Transport Museum, Transport museum near main railway station in Bratislava, Slovakia
The Bratislava Transport Museum displays nearly 100 cars and 25 historical motorcycles across two exhibition halls. The collection spans different periods of vehicle development from early times to recent decades.
The museum building stands on the site of Bratislava's first steam railway station from 1848. The space opened to the public as a museum in June 1999.
The collection features vehicles built in Czechoslovakia, including Tatra models and steam locomotives that represent local manufacturing traditions. These machines show a period when the region was known for engineering and industrial production.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday with special family rates available. Free entry is offered on the first Wednesday of each month.
A 1947 Skoda steam locomotive weighing 155 tons stands alongside a Soviet-built ZIL 115 limousine once used by communist leaders. These two exhibits show different machine traditions from two distinct periods and systems.
