Palffy palace, Baroque palace in Old Town, Slovakia
The palace features a grand portal with a military relief and spans three floors with a basement containing archaeological discoveries.
Count Leopold Pálffy commissioned the construction of this palace in 1747, during the reign of Empress Maria Theresa.
The palace now functions as part of Bratislava City Gallery, presenting permanent exhibitions of historical artifacts and contemporary art collections.
Visitors can explore the exhibitions across multiple floors, while the courtyard remains open for individual visits without admission fees.
The building contains a site-specific installation made from twelve thousand library books and mirrors, creating an optical passage experience.
