Pivovar Hurbanovo

Pivovar Hurbanovo is a brewery in Slovakia with modern production facilities spread across several buildings. The operation includes both brewing kettles and a malting plant where barley is processed for beer production.

The brewery was founded in 1969 and achieved a milestone in 1971 when it became the first facility in Eastern Europe to can beer. This technological advancement set a new standard for the beer industry in the region.

The name Zlatý Bažant refers to the pheasants that once lived in the region and shaped its character. The brewery has kept this connection to local nature alive through its identity and branding.

Visitors can join guided tours that show the complete brewing process from raw materials to finished product. The tours follow a curated route called the Beer Road that explains all stages of production.

In 1978 the brewery sent beer into space as part of a space mission. This unusual honor makes it a remarkable chapter in Slovakia's industrial history.
