Hotel Devín, Functionalist hotel building in central Bratislava, Slovakia.
Hotel Devín is a functionalist building located on the Danube riverbank in central Bratislava. The four-story structure contains 88 rooms, each equipped with soundproof windows, minibars, and coffee facilities for guest comfort.
The building was designed by architects Emil Belluš and Viktor Uhliarik in 1954 and introduced modern architectural principles to Bratislava's riverfront. This project marked a turning point in how the city approached riverside development.
The structure represents Slovak functionalist architecture through its emphasis on practical design elements and integration with the surrounding urban environment.
The hotel sits in the city center within walking distance of the old town and has direct tram access at Safarikovo Square. Being right on the river means some rooms may pick up water sounds, which is worth considering when booking.
The building features an indoor swimming pool with a counter-current system, a rare amenity for Bratislava hotels when it opened. A sun terrace overlooking the Danube and old town provided guests with river views that few other accommodations in the city could offer at that time.
