Kľačianska Magura

Klačianska Magura is a mountain peak in the Little Fatra range standing at 1,372 meters elevation. The summit remains closed to visitors, though dense forest covers the slopes within Malá Fatra National Park.

The area received protected status in 1976 when it became a nature reserve. These conservation measures were established to preserve the old-growth spruce forests in this mountain region.

The mountain is home to rare plant and animal species found in the Fatra region. Visitors walking the trails experience the natural diversity of this forested landscape firsthand.

Marked trails from Lipovec and Turčianske Klačany lead to a mountain hut at the base of the peak. Visitors should wear sturdy hiking boots and bring rain gear, as trails pass through wet forest areas.

On clear days, nearby viewpoints reveal multiple mountain ranges including the Western Tatras, Low Tatras, and Great Fatra. This expansive view across the Fatra landscape makes it a rewarding destination for those wanting to see the broader mountain system.
