Lesopark Brezina, Forest park near Trenčín, Slovakia.
Lesopark Brezina spreads across the southwestern side of the Strážovské hills with a diverse mix of beech, hornbeam, maple, elm, spruce, pine, and larch trees covering its slopes. The park is crossed by multiple pathways, from stone staircases to asphalt roads, connecting different areas and recreational spaces throughout the wooded terrain.
During the 19th century the area functioned as pastureland for goats, giving its highest point the name Kozí vrch. Later, Catholic priest Stárek began planting trees that gradually transformed the landscape into the park we see today.
The park contains a cherry orchard with gazebos and fireplaces on the southern slope, creating distinct zones that visitors can move between along stone pathways.
The park has multiple entry points, with an asphalt road connecting from Štefánikova street to Hotel Veverica and its wooden children's play area. Walking routes vary in difficulty from gentle paths to steeper climbs, allowing visitors to choose based on their fitness level.
The Štefánikova lookout offers views toward northeastern Trenčín and features a natural stone formation topped with an unusual dead pine trunk standing against the Skalky massif backdrop. This distinctive formation creates a striking visual element that catches visitors' attention from the viewpoint.
