The Palace of Justice features three symmetrical wings with a prominent central entrance, incorporating a travertine-covered base and decorative cornices throughout its facade.

Construction of the judicial complex began in December 1930, following plans by architects Alexander Skutecký and Vojtech Holesch to replace an obsolete prison from 1844.

The building represents the architectural trends of 1930s Czechoslovakia, combining traditional institutional design with rationalist principles in its structure and layout.

The facility houses the Regional Court, City Court of Bratislava I, and a detention center with a capacity for 644 individuals across three floors.

The prison section follows a Pennsylvania-panopticon design with radiating corridors extending from a central hub, forming a cross shape within the courtyard.
