Spolkový dom

Spolkový dom is an Art Nouveau building in central Skalica with decorative mosaics covering its outer walls and a large theater hall inside. The hall features painted scenes by regional artists that give the space its distinctive character.

The building was constructed around 1905 as a meeting place for several community associations in the town. For many decades it served as a venue where different groups gathered for events and celebrations.

The building houses a permanent exhibition with ethnographic collections and regional archaeological objects that show how people lived in this area long ago. These displays give visitors insight into the daily life and beliefs of local families throughout history.

The center sits in the town square across from the parish church and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should check ahead about events and opening times, as these can vary depending on scheduled activities.

The building's gable roof features a painted figure showing a Hungarian king blessing a family, created by a renowned Czech painter. This artistic scene is a striking connection between regional history and the craftsmanship of the time.
