Kulturpark Barracks

Kulturpark Barracks is a renovated military complex in Košice with three main buildings, smaller pavilions, and a central square where events take place. The grounds feature open areas and restored structures that serve as venues for exhibitions, performances, and gatherings.

The complex was built in the late 1800s as a supply base for the Austro-Hungarian army with storage buildings, a bakery, and administrative facilities. It served military purposes for many decades before being restored and reopened to the public in the 2010s.

The site transformed from a closed military space into a gathering place for exhibitions and concerts that bring the community together. People now come here to experience live performances and art shows throughout the year.

The grounds are open daily and free to enter, with ample parking available throughout the day. An on-site cafe provides refreshments, making it easy to spend several hours exploring the open spaces and buildings.

The grounds feature a special guidance system with tactile strips and warning studs embedded in the pavement to help visually impaired visitors navigate independently. This thoughtful design allows people with vision loss to explore the site freely without assistance.
