Madách Mansion, Dolná Strehová, Manor house and literary museum in Dolná Strehová, Slovakia.
Madách Mansion is a stone building with three wings, a central projecting section, and two diagonal prismatic towers in Rococo-Classical style, constructed in 1777. The property includes several outbuildings and landscaped grounds surrounding the main residence.
After fires destroyed earlier structures in 1717 and 1758, family ancestor A Madách rebuilt the mansion as a family home. It later became a center of intellectual life under Imre Madách, the family's renowned writer.
The mansion was closely tied to writer Imre Madách, who lived and worked here during his life. The rooms display personal objects and works from different periods of his literary career.
The mansion is open for visits Tuesday through Sunday during summer months and Monday and Wednesday through Friday in winter. The location is accessible on foot, and the rooms can be explored without special equipment.
A room in the house served as the writer's study, where he composed his most famous works and developed his creative thoughts. The park grounds also hold his tomb with an elaborate sculpture created by a renowned artist of the period.
